- Rabbi Mordechai Weberman of Neturei Karta (NK) organizes an Israeli flag burning to protest the existence of the state of Israel. NK believes that the existence of Israel as a political sovereignty is heretical and that it is the will of God that the Jewish people remain in exile until the coming of the messiah. NK believes there will be no peace in the Middle East until the state is dismantled, and asserts that no Jew has claim to the land until they are all in accordance with religious Jewish Law.
